The Melkbos falls within this approximately 100 000 hectares and includes both land and ocean environments. Part of the vision is for owners to actively conserve the biodiversity of the site. A selection of some common and rarer Ericas can be found. So too members of the fynbos endemic families of Brunia, Lanaria and Peneaceae. Some impressive proteas like the Common and Marsh Pagoda and Green Tree Pincushion are found on site.
